These terms govern use of Oswego County Criminal History. Visiting a page, reading its content, or using a search tool means that you accept them. If you do not agree, discontinue use of the site.

NO FCRA USE. Oswego County Criminal History is privately operated and has no government affiliation. Neither this site nor its advertising partners provides a service for credit, employment, insurance, tenant, or other decisions regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act. This is a New York records-reference resource, not a private investigation firm or consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

This is a private reference site with no connection to Oswego County, a court, or any state office. It does not store official criminal records, conduct official checks, retrieve files, or submit documents.

Its content identifies custodians such as the Oswego County Sheriff, criminal court clerks, DCJS, and the New York State Sex Offender Registry. Some pages also connect visitors with third-party research tools.

2. Rules for Using This Site

Every user agrees not to:

  • Break any federal, state, or local law while using this site
  • Use information you find here to stalk, harass, or threaten anyone
  • Base hiring, housing, lending, or insurance decisions on content from this site
  • Try to break into our systems or gain access you are not supposed to have

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

Information from this site or a linked tool may not be used to stalk, harass, threaten, intimidate, or discriminate. Misuse may also violate law. New York Correction Law Article 6-C controls sex-offender registration and dissemination, and registry information is for public safety awareness. It must not support vigilantism, unlawful discrimination, or harm against a listed person.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

Oswego County Criminal History is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and does not create credit reports, background checks, or consumer reports. Its information and linked tools cannot be used to:

  • Decide whether to hire or fire someone
  • Screen potential renters or housing applicants
  • Judge creditworthiness or set insurance premiums
  • Determine who qualifies for licenses, permits, or government programs
  • Do anything else that falls under FCRA rules

A check for any regulated purpose must come through a lawful official process or an FCRA-compliant screening provider. DCJS Personal Record Review is restricted to reviewing your own fingerprint-supported New York record.

5. No Legal Advice

Site content is general information, not legal advice. It cannot determine how a charge, conviction, warrant, or New York record-sealing rule applies to a particular situation. Consult a licensed New York attorney for legal guidance.

6. No Warranties

All content is provided "as is," without a guarantee that:

  • The information here is accurate, complete, or current at any given time
  • The site will stay up and running without interruptions
  • Our pages are free of errors, bugs, or security holes
  • Results from our partner search tools will be thorough or accurate

Charges, dispositions, and sealing status can change. Gaps and delays are possible, and nothing here is an official statement from the Oswego County Sheriff, a court, DCJS, or any government agency.

14. Severability

If one provision is held invalid or unenforceable, all remaining provisions continue. The affected language will be adjusted only as much as needed to make it enforceable.
